About
Dear Colleague,
Mike Cornelison, CEO
Health plans and the companies that support them operate at a critical nexus in providing health care to US consumers. Within the health plan space, critical market dynamics are rationalized, risk and financial resources are balanced, quality health care is organized and delivered, operational logistics connect multiple parties – all designed to create a competitive health insurance product, valued by consumers. It’s no secret that health plans are complex businesses, operating within several health care ecosystems.
Consistent, reliable success in our industry has not been easy. Unfortunately, we see significant variation in health plan performance across the country. The simple fact is there are several things a health plan must do and do well in order to be successful. Proper execution of these essential, foundational elements does not guarantee success, though poor performance is almost always assured without them.
It’s noteworthy that most of these basic requirements are not dependent upon traditional limitations such as health plan size, product offering mix or negotiating clout with providers/vendors. Rather they have more to do with a level of sophistication and close attention to key details of the business. The large, established and consistently successful health plans have institutionalized these elements as part of their growth history. Many small, medium or new health plans struggle or are unaware.
Since 2001 ConsentiaHealth has been helping health plans and other health service organizations build sustainable success. We accomplish this by providing highly experienced guidance, deep subject-matter expertise, sophisticated performance analysis and a disciplined approach to institutionalizing change. Our goal is simple: to optimize the financial, operational and customer service experience of health companies, as a means to create foundational success.
Our unique value is represented through the extensive experience and maturity of our team. Each of us has at least 25 years of progressive experience working directly with health plans and providers. We started out as claims examiners, accountants and member service reps - and progressed to CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s and board members. In fact, together we’ve performed and managed just about every function there is in a health plan.
Thank you for visiting our website and your interest in ConsentiaHealth. We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your organization and its performance. I invite you to contact us with any questions you may have.
Best Regards,
Mike Cornelison
